One of our original sources for the Cloverfield ARG has informed us that their sources with Paramount have indeed confirmed that a sequel is in the works.

Well over the weekend at Comic Con JJ Abrams was tight lipped for the most part, but let this little tidbit leak during the Fringe panel.

Abrams confirming that if and when a sequel happens it will not be a "literal" or direct sequel. Our Paramount source says that the plan is to focus the new movie on the point of view from the military.

Here is JJ'a statement:

“There’s something we’re playing with now that may or may not happen. There’s an idea we have that plays with… it’s not a literal sequel.“
